Privacy & Security

Our website is fully secure and compatible with the latest SSL certificate technology so you can be confident that your information is safe.  We will never share your information, e-mail, phone number or anything with any third party. We won't send you any promotional emails unless you sign up for our newsletter.


Ordering

Our website is the best place to find our full selection of products, options, sizing, and item details. A easy check out ensures you spend less time filling our information and more time sailing. In addition, by creating an account you can save your billing and shipping information for future orders.

Our fulfillment team operates Monday through Friday except for major holidays. Orders placed before 11:30 a.m. EST Monday through Friday typically ship the same day. Orders placed after 11:30 a.m. EST will ship the following business day. Please contact us immediately if your order requires expedited shipping or to see if shipping out the same day is still possible. Additional processing time may be needed for orders that include items that we assemble* in-house, sails we have to number, and RS Sailing parts.

*Items that require assembly will have that written in their description

Payment & Sales Tax

We accept payments for orders placed through https://www.zimsailing.com via credit card:

Credit Card

We accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

Upon placing an order, your card will be authorized, but will not be charged until an item ships. Payment will be collected at the time your order ships. If your order is partially shipped, we won’t collect payment for items we were unable to ship.

Other Payment Methods

Any other desired payment method should be processed via email or by calling one of our customer service or sales representatives.

Sales Tax

Zim Sailing is obligated to collect sales tax on orders shipped to certain states. Our site checkout will automatically calculate a sales tax line item and add it to applicable orders.

How We Calculate Sales Tax: Our website will calculate and charge sales tax based on the items in your order and shipping destination, remitting sales tax on your behalf. The same rates will apply to orders placed via phone or email. We do not prepay (except in rare circumstance) any duties or taxes associated with shipping product outside the United States. Please contact our team if you have any specific questions or concerns related to sales tax.

Tax Exempt Organizations: Please contact us prior to placing an order if you have a tax exempt status so that we can configure your account correctly. We are unable to process refunds for orders placed prior to confirming your status and having an exemption certificate on file. 


Shipping

Zim Sailing offers shipping by UPS/Fedex, USPS, or you can select to pick up the order at our facility in RI during normal business hours.

Expedited Orders

We don't offer expedited shipping on orders on our website. Please call to place an order with expedited shipping. 

Freight items

We don't offer items that require freight shipping for sale on our website. Please call to order these items.


Returns & Order Changes

Your 100% satisfaction is our goal. If for any reason you have a problem with your product (sizing, color, etc.) we will happily exchange it for you. If you’re looking to return your order in full, we will for a 15% restocking fee to cover our costs. Please contact us right away if there is a problem with your order or if products arrived damaged. You can find information on returns and exchanges below, or simply give us a call or send an email and we'll help guide you through the process.

Damaged Orders

If an order arrives damaged, immediately contact the carrier (company delivering the product) and Zim to make a note of the damage and, if possible, photograph the damage and share with the email address provided by the customer service representative. Once we’ve been notified, we will reach out to you regarding the provision of such photos and a path moving forward. If we find ourselves or the carrier to be at fault for the damage, we will pursue the responsible party to recover the cost of the product. If we can not establish an at-fault party, no refund or replacement will be issued. We reserve the right to make exceptions at our sole discretion, and no exceptions will create any precedent or promise to make similar exceptions, unless explicitly stated in a verbal or written contract.

Cancellations

A cancellation is an order that is retracted prior to shipping an order or providing a service. Cancellations of orders should be made immediately upon placing the order. Cancellations made after charging a credit card will be charged a restocking fee of 15%. If you cancel the order and we are able to receive that cancellation prior to processing and charging, we will not charge a restocking fee. All PayPal order cancellations will be charged a 15% restocking fee. We reserve the right to make exceptions at our sole discretion, and no exceptions will create any precedent or promise to make similar exceptions, unless explicitly stated in a verbal or written contract.

Returns

Returns are defined as any order which is retracted after a product has been shipped. Clearance items are final sale and cannot be returned unless noted otherwise. Returns can be made within 30 days of purchase for partial refund (15% restocking fee on all returns). Returns made outside 30 days will be issued store credit (with a 15% restocking fee). Please include any packaging material along with a completed copy of your order invoice to make processing the return faster. Please allow 5-7 days for return processing and 1-2 billing cycles for credit to appear. We reserve the right to make exceptions at our sole discretion, and no exceptions will create any precedent or promise to make similar exceptions, unless explicitly stated in a verbal or written contract.

Exchanges

Exchanges are defined as any order which is retracted with the intention of replacing the given order with an order of equal value. Product exchanges can also be made within 30 days of purchase. Generally, the second shipment will occur upon receipt of the item to be exchanged. Exchanges will re-ship via our standard UPS Ground (unless an alternative shipping method is specified by the customer) at the financial responsibility of the customer. Please include a completed copy of your order invoice and all original packaging material. We reserve the right to make exceptions at our sole discretion, and no exceptions will create any precedent or promise to make similar exceptions, unless explicitly stated in a verbal or written contract.

Return Shipping

Shipping of items back to Zim Sailing is the responsibility of the customer. Please use the following address and include a copy of your invoice

*Exceptions: Some items are not eligible returns and exchanges under our standard policy. These items include cut line, numbered sails, special order items, clearance items, products worn or used on the water, etc. Contact us for questions.


Warranty Information

For Zim Sailing boats, the product will be warranted for a period of two years against defects in materials or workmanship. Sporting equipment, such as racing dinghies can be subject to aggressive use. Damage arising out of neglect and/or abusive conditions are not subject to warranty.
