Our business is open five days a week, Monday - Friday, excepting holidays. Our showroom is open Monday-Friday, between 10am and 5pm.

Ordering
Our website is the best place to find our full selection of products, options, sizing, and item details. An easy check out ensures you spend less time filling our information and more time sailing. In addition, by creating an account you can save your billing and shipping information for future orders.
We do our best to ship orders as quickly as possible. Below are some general guidelines for when orders will ship. If you have a specific deadline, please call or email our team so we can work with you to make it happen.
For parts orders, excluding Oversize and LTL shipping items, if everything in your order is in stock and you place your order before 11:30am, it will generally ship the same business day. If you selected Pick Up at Zim, your order will generally be ready for pickup after 2pm the same business day. We will contact you to let you know your order is ready for pickup. Additional processing time may be needed for orders that include items that we assemble* in-house, sails we have to number, etc. Our team will work to keep you informed about the status of these orders.
In stock parts orders containing an Oversize shipping item will generally ship the next business day. In stock parts orders containing a Freight shipping item will generally ship within 3 business days.
For parts orders containing out of stock items, your fulfillment date will depend on the lead time from our supplier (for purchased items) or the lead time for our team to build your items (for produced items), or both. Once our team has a chance to review your order we will work to keep you informed about a likely fulfillment timeline.

Payment
We accept payment by credit card for orders placed through our website. We accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Upon placing an order, your card will be charged. If after submitting your order you need to cancel an order or change items, please call or email our team for assistance.
If you are unable to pay by credit card, please give our team a call to place an order over the phone.
Sales Tax
Zim Sailing is obligated to collect sales tax on orders shipped to certain states. If you place an order for shipment or delivery into one of these states, our website will automatically calculate the appropriate sales tax during checkout based on the shipping address you provide.
Tax Exempt Organizations: Please contact us prior to placing an order if you have a tax exempt status so that we can configure your account correctly. We are unable to process refunds for orders placed prior to confirming your status and having an exemption certificate on file.
Shipping
Zim Sailing offers Free Standard Shipping on most orders to the continental United States over $99.00. Generally speaking, if your order is $99.00 or more and can fit in a normal size box or mailer, we will ship it for free! Our Standard Shipping utilizes USPS, UPS, and FedEx to send packages near and far.
Oversize Items: Certain items are classified as oversize. We charge a flat rate of $60.00 for orders that contain an oversize item using our standard shipping methods. This service may not be available to all areas. If your order contains a freight item in addition to an oversize item, the freight method/cost will supersede the oversize charge.
LTL / Freight Items: Certain items are too big to ship via common carrier, including many masts, booms, and certain rolled sails. We are still able to ship these items, but where applicable, our website will clearly alert you to the additional shipping charges. Many popular freight items have a flat rate shipping charge to addresses in the continental United States and will indicate this on the product page. We are unable to offer this on certain especially large or cumbersome items. For these items, you’ll need to contact our team so they can work with you to determine the shipping cost.
In-Store Pickup: If you prefer to pick your order up at our location in beautiful Bristol, RI you can select In-Store Pickup - Zim Sailing Warehouse. After ordering, our team will notify you when your order is ready to be picked up. Will Call pick up is only available during normal business hours.
Shipping Destinations: Shipment of all item types is available to the continental United States. Shipment of Standard Items is available to all other United States destinations via USPS Priority and quoted in the shopping cart. Shipment of Standard Items is available to Canada via USPS Priority Mail International and quoted in the shopping cart. Our website will not provide a shipping quote or method for Oversize or LTL Freight items to shipping zones outside the continental United States. Shipping may be available in some circumstances, contact our team for more information.
Expedited Orders
We don't offer expedited shipping on orders on our website. Please call us to place an order with expedited shipping. Please note that it is not possible to upgrade a package which has already been shipped to expedited shipping.
Damaged Orders
If an order arrives damaged, please make a note of the damage and condition of the packaging and, if possible, photograph the packaging and any damage to the order. Please then immediately email us with the photos, a description of the damage, your order details, and a contact telephone number. Our team will reach out to you regarding what to do with the damaged items, and to work with you to provide a resolution. Please retain the items and any packaging until otherwise directed by a member of our team.
Cancellations
We accept cancellations of parts orders in most circumstances. Exceptions are packages which have already shipped (which may still be eligible for return), or any customized products such as numbered sails. If you need to cancel an order please contact our team for assistance.
Returns & Exchanges
We accept returns or exchanges of most new condition items (see exceptions below) with their original packaging within 30 days of purchase for a partial refund (15% restocking fee on all returns) or exchange for an item of equal value. Returns made outside 30 days will be issued store credit (minus a 15% restocking fee).
Shipping of returns or exchanges is the responsibility of the customer. If you wish to return or exchange an oversize or LTL item, please contact our team before shipping the item back to us.

Once we receive your items, please allow 5-7 days for return processing and 1-2 billing cycles for your refund credit to appear. For exchanges, generally, shipment of the new item will occur upon receipt of the item to be exchanged. Exchanges will re-ship via our standard shipping (unless an alternative shipping method is specified by the customer) at the financial responsibility of the customer. Our team will contact you to confirm payment details for these shipping costs.
Please include the following information with your return or exchange:
- A list of items being returned / exchanged.
- Any comments or reason for the return / exchange.
- Whether you are requesting a refund or an exchange. For an exchange, list items you would like in exchange.
- Original order details (name on the order, order number, etc…). If you have the packing list or invoice provided with your original order, include this.
*Exceptions: We are unable to accept returns or exchanges of any used items, including items worn or used on the water, as well as any damaged or defective items. We can work with you to resolve any manufacturer defects or warranty replacements, but please contact us prior to returning these items. We are also unable to accept returns or exchanges of cut line, customized products including numbered sails, and any clearance items.
Warranty
We do not offer a warranty, implied or express, for any of the parts or apparel we sell through this website. However, certain products, produced by third party manufacturers, may be warrantied by those manufacturers. Please contact us if you need more information.
For boats manufactured by Zim Sailing, we offer a limited warranty for these boats for a period of two years against defects in materials or workmanship. Damage arising out of neglect and/or abusive conditions are not subject to warranty.
Privacy & Security
Our website is fully secure and compatible with the latest SSL certificate technology so you can be confident that your information is safe. We will never share your information, e-mail, phone number or any other personal information with any third party. We won't send you any promotional emails unless you sign up for our newsletter.
