Zim Sailing is focused on youth sailing because we care about growing the sport. As lifelong sailors, we have benefited from our experience in the sport. It is our goal to help grow the sport by producing quality products at exceptional value for the small boat sailing market. Our management team of sailors knows the importance of product performance, reliability, and value for the money. 

Steve Perry | Technical Advisor

Steve has been a part of the sailing world since a very young age, building and racing Tornado catamarans starting in his early teens. With over 20 years experience building boats, including ten years with Vanguard Sailboats, he's been able to apply his engineering background to build high quality and durable products. His passion for sailing, both as a participant and a manufacturer, keep him focused on finding ways to support and grow the sport.

 

Bob Adam | Director of Institutional Sales

Bob Adam is the VP of Sales & Marketing.  Bob has been in the marine industry for many years to include positions at Doyle Sails, North Sails, Vanguard Sailboats and Laser Performance.   Bob specializes in fleet orders from yacht clubs, community sailing centers, high schools and colleges.  Bob can be seen at many youth regattas throughout the country passing along his passion and expertise to young sailors. In addition, Bob attends many regional and national conferences to keep his finger on the pulse of sailing throughout North America.  When not enjoying Narragansett Bay, Bob can be seen on his road bike or at the gym.  He and his wife Stephanie have 2 children, Bradley and Grace.

 

Bo Williams | VP of Sales

Bo is a lifelong sailor who grew up sailing at New Bedford Yacht Club, sailed for and was the captain of the Bishop Stang High School sailing team, and in college founded the UMass Dartmouth sailing club. Bo also taught sailing for several years at Community Boating Center New Bedford. Bo brings a wealth of experience in the small boat sailing industry to Zim. Bo graduated with a BA in Marketing from UMass Dartmouth in 2006. He then worked in Sales, Marketing and Customer Service at Laser Performance (formerly Vanguard Sailboats) for 9 years. Most recently, Bo worked as the Associate Director for Community Boating Center New Bedford.

 

 

 

Adam Werblow | Director of Institutional Programs

Adam Werblow serves as the liaison between Zim and colleges and high schools. Adam is one of the most respected coaches in the country and his commitment to customer services fits perfectly into the mission of Zim Sailing. In addition to his work with Zim, Adam is the head coach at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Werblow has been a passionate advocate for high school and college sailing for over 30 years. He is renowned as an expert on the performance, care, and maintenance of institutional dinghies. Werblow will help shape Zim Sailing's products and services to best serve High School and College programs, coaches and sailors.

 

Dawn Rogers | Office Manager

Dawn previously worked with many members of the Zim team at Vanguard / LaserPerformance. She is an essential member of the Zim Team that works closely with every segment of the business and helps with a wide range of operational responsibilities. 

 

Corey Butlin | Operations Manager

Corey previously worked with Hall Spars and R&W Ropes. Corey is the Operations Manager for Zim Sailing and brings a wealth of experience to the team. 

 

Sam Patterson | Sales Executive

Sam is originally from Hampton, VA and spent a significant amount of time coaching the youth circuit on Lake Erie and the Great Lakes. After a brief stint in the wealth management industry, Sam started the Foundry sailing center in Cleveland and BoatworksCLE, a dinghy dealership and boat repair shop. Most recently Sam served as the general manager of The Boat Locker, overseeing a charter fleet of 175+ boats. Sam graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in Foreign Affairs/Economics and was the commodore of the sailing team. 

John Colby | Sales Executive

John grew up sailing at the Shelter Island Yacht Club on the east end of Long Island and has been an active member of the sailing community ever since. He spent many summers coaching Lasers and c420s while trying to sail as often as possible. Most recently John worked as a real estate market analyst for an NYC startup, but decided to get back into the sailing world after spending a year with them. John graduated from Syracuse University with a BA in Political Science from the Maxwell School and was president of the SU sailing team during his tenure. Now he races Etchells on summer weekends and skis during the colder months. John is excited to explore new facets of the sailing industry, while applying his previous sailing and professional experience.

 George Yioulos | Owner

George is a dinghy sailor who started West Coast Sailing after leading the sailing team at the University of Oregon. He brought West Coast Sailing, Zim Sailing and Dwyer Mast and Rigging together in 2021.  He is involved in the day to day operations of all the companies now, as passionate as ever to grow them and the sport of sailing.
