Customer Support Associate

Full time in Bristol, RI.

Zim Sailing is the largest manufacturer and distributor of small sailboats in the US. We proudly manufacture boats like 420s, FJs, ILCAs and Optis. While our production team builds our boats and parts, our sales & support team serves customers around the country. Our Bristol location is seeking a full time, experienced customer support professional to join our team.  

A great team ensures customers get great service.  Our product catalog is large, and we need someone with sailing experience, and a desire to help customers get on the water - to help serve our growing phone, email and in person customers. This position is part of a national team of Customer Support professionals at Starting Line Sailing companies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works with our customers via phone, email, text, and our retail showroom.

  • Provides amazing, knowledgeable and passionate customer service

  • Ensures prompt follow through on all customer inquiries

  • Responsible for resolving customer / order issues

  • Dialogues with production and fulfillment teams to ensure timely dispatch of orders.

Skills You Should Have:

  • A background in sailing, particularly dinghy sailing. 

  • At least a few years of experience working with customers by phone and email. 

  • Be organized, efficient, and driven to provide exceptional customer support.

  • Familiarity with digital tools/technology and resources.

  • Attention to detail plus the ability to speak and write clearly and professionally.

  • The ability to learn new processes & adopt technology quickly.

  • The ability to become a subject matter expert in our products and services. 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: Competitive (depending on experience)

  • BlueCross Blue Shield Health Insurance (subsidized) - Weekly cost starts at $46

  • PTO: 2 weeks for the first 5 years, then 3 weeks + paid holidays, sick time.

  • In person, M-F, 8am to 5pm.
