Zim Sailing ISCA® Available Now

PRESS RELEASE - May 8th, 2025

Bristol, Rhode Island - Zim Sailing is proud to announce that production of the ISCA® (International Sunfish Class Association™) sailboat is underway in Bristol, Rhode Island. Extensive testing both on and off the water is complete, and the first boats will be delivered to customers and dealers nationwide in the coming weeks. Interested sailors are encouraged to request a quote and place a deposit now to get on the water this summer.

Offered alongside the new boats are ISCA sails and parts, now fully available at ZimSailing.com and through Zim’s dealer network. Premium quality class-approved parts are compatible with older Sunfish® sailboats, and are the choice for competitive and recreational sailors alike.

Since appointment as the official ISCA builder in November 2024, the team at Zim Sailing has worked around the clock to deliver a world class boat. The Zim ISCA is the only class-legal new boat for International Sunfish Class racing and Zim is thrilled to be providing boats for the ISCA World Championship. Equally suited for recreational sailing and racing, the ISCA is expertly made in the USA and equipped with premium fittings built to last.

The Zim ISCA is a testament to the historic one-design nature of the International Sunfish Class, while also improving overall durability to deliver the best possible boat to sailors. Every aspect of the boat, from hardware selection to construction methods, was carefully considered for quality to ensure that a brand-new ISCA looks and feels just like your classic boat while delivering long-term durability.

In collaboration with class leadership, the Zim ISCA introduces class-legal Harken Carbo blocks on the racing boom and a simple Harken linked traveler block to improve the 2:1 system’s longevity without altering performance characteristics. Brand new tooling and molds ensure every boat meets strict one-design standards and the foam blocks that originally provided structure and buoyancy have been upgraded and replaced with closed-cell foam technology that will not absorb water, while providing stiffness to construction. North Sails are exclusively available for Zim ISCAs, and Kingfisher Ropes has developed Club and Race line packages to bring everything together.

The 2025 Zim ISCA features a white deck with navy blue stripes on aft deck and is available in three trim variants. The ISCA Race comes equipped with a North Sails racing mainsail, outhaul and cunningham system, quick release gooseneck, lower racing boom with Harken blocks, and fiberglass blades. The ISCA Club includes your choice of colorful North Sails mainsails and fiberglass blades, with a wood blade package available for those seeking that classic look. All boats include Harken deck hardware and a Kingfisher Ropes line kit. Starting at a complete, ready to sail price of $5,700, the Zim ISCA offers exceptional value for every sailor.
